Hummel Figurine Masterpiece 2018 novelty with blue eyes and accentuated iris! The Masterpiece 2018 was created by master modeler Marion Huschka. A wandering motif had been requested by Pastor Wilhelm Renz in March 1938 from Franciscan Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel. The pastor was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis and warden at the Emmaus Home, which was established for homeless people northeast of Ulm. The oil painting that Berta Hummel made for him was titled 'To Emmaus.' The image of the three cheerful wandering lads was published in a similar form in the Hummel book by the Josef Müller publishing house and served as the template for the elaborately designed original Hummel figurine 'Three Wandering Lads.' Where does the path lead? The three wandering lads look upwards. The signpost, which serves as a resting place for three swallows, appears to be unmarked. Only one sign calls to pause - as is also advised at certain points in life's journey, to the to take the right path. Our masterpiece of 2018 is a complex and very intricately crafted figure. Since 1935, the popular Hummel figurines have been traditionally 'Made in Germany' and handcrafted at the site in Rödental, Franconia. The Hummel manufactory follows the original drawings of the Franciscan sister M.I. Hummel from the Sießen convent. Maria Innocentia Hummel was born Berta Hummel and came from Massing in Bavaria. She graduated as the top of her class ihr from the State School for Applied Arts in Munich. Her drawings of children, depicting them in everyday activities, at play, or in nature, are world-famous. Only the Hummel manufactory is authorized to use the Franciscan Maria Innocentia Hummel's drawings as a template and inspiration for designing the figurines.
